VOLUNTEER ACKNOWLEDGMENT
 
Thanks to hundreds of volunteers who assist with application preparation, workshop logistics
and citizenship instruction;
to date we have welcomed more than
6,000 new citizens in Lake County, IL.


   
SERVICES

IMMIGRATION

Low cost immigration assistance including, translation of documents, renewal of cards and family petition processes. Case assessment and legal referrals as needed


CITIZENSHIP

Under the New Americans Initiative we provide legal screening, application preparation, monthly workshops, information sessions, study guides.




CITIZENSHIP CLASSES

Every Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, citizenship applicants meet to learn about the history and government in preparation for their citizenship interview and test.

 

ORIENTATION TO RESOURCES

Free consultation, case management and referrals to low-cost or free services offered by other organizations in the community.

IMMIGRANT FAMILY RESOURCE PROGRAM

Application assistance and case management to access or continue public benefits such as SNAP and MEDIC AID . Translation, Interpretation and advocacy services.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY ORGANIZING & MOBILIZING

New citizens continue their civic engagement by expanding their knowledge about issues that affect their lives and their communities and how they may be involved in the process of voicing their concerns and  be more participative in initiatives to improve those issues and to exercise their voting rights to make changes.
