HACES is honored to be recognized by the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County (HFNLC) with the Excellence in Service AwardIn celebration of HFNLC’s 15th anniversary, the foundation awarded 15 grants to organizations that expanded, added, or creatively adjusted programming to address healthcare access needs or health equity issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.

HFNLC supports efforts that improve access to health services for underserved Lake County, Illinois, residents. In 2021 HACES was awarded grant funding to implement a COVID-19 vaccine education campaign in the community we serve. Funding received from the HFNLC has allowed us to add a health education component to our existing programming.

Adding a health education and health services navigation component to our existing IFRP program was a natural expansion of our current services and strengthens our mission – to provide leadership, expertise and navigational support for immigrants and citizens, helping them become knowledgeable and empowered members of society.

Our expansions include:

We are grateful to HFNLC for their partnership in helping us to address health disparities in our community!
