Success Story
Ms. Carmona
October 28, 2022 | Author: Alicia Garcia, Director of Programs
“I would like to thank God for delivering me angels who helped get me through some troubles I've been facing.”
“Don't doubt in being able to receive help from them.”
Because of generous grant funding and supporters like YOU, HACES’ Immigrant Family Support Program (IFSP) continues to help clients like Ms. Carmona overcome the financial impact of the COVID pandemic. Ms. Carmona applied for IFSP funds after struggling financially due to the pandemic, including loss of her income. She also began struggling with her health; unfortunately, due to her immigration status, she wasn’t eligible for subsidized healthcare and was forced to pay for her visits out-of-pocket. Ms. Carmona was overjoyed when she was notified that her IFSP application had been approved and her financial assistance was in the office awaiting pick-up.
Our case managers, Lesley, and Jennifer have heard heartbreaking stories from our clients, some of whom call us in tears because they feel helpless. We’re proud that we’ve been able to rise to the challenge and will continue to as long as the community needs us.
