HACES is the best place where people can receive support, help, and services; thanks to HACES and María Gutiérrez, my life changed tremendously. Last December I got sick with COVID, we ran out of food, money, and we were afraid of losing where we live, it was very distressing to know that we could lose everything at any time. Back then we had no support, our economic situation was so bad that I couldn’t even pay for the renewal of my DACA.
A friend recommended María Gutiérrez and HACES to us. I called and got an appointment quickly, María was and continues to be very nice to me, she helped a lot, and informed me I could qualify for a program that would pay my DACA renewal fee. I think this has been like a dream come true. Thanks to the financial help, I was able to obtain my DACA, when I thought there was no hope. Now I can say that this is the country of opportunities, and that we are not alone, thank you María and HACES.
